PCa Blue is pleased to announce that blues legend Buddy Guy will be appearing at a series of 2017 concerts as part of the “Buddy Guy Blues for Prostate Cancer” initiative. Buddy will be a special guest at these one-of-a-kind music and awareness events – dubbed the Blues 4 Prostate Cancer Education Tour – including the kickoff event April 2 at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, “Two Blues Legends for One Great Cause.”
The Memphis program also features fellow Grammy Award-winning Blues Hall of Famer Bobby Rush, as well as sets by the Bo-Keys, Southern Avenue and Grammy-nominated “Art Ambassador of Mississippi” Vasti Jackson. GET TICKETS TODAY!
PCa Blue is pleased to announce the formation of a second component to the Blues 4 Prostate Cancer Education Tour. The Sons and Daughters of the Blues is made up of sons and daughters of blues legends from another generation who are equally talented and exciting.
We are also proud to announce that the famous City Winery restaurants and music venues will be hosting the Sons and Daughters of the Blues with 2017 performances at their five locations in the United States: New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville and Boston.
May 21st at the City Winery New York City will be the inaugural concert of the Sons and Daughters Blues. It will feature the children of blues legends, including: Carlise Guy (Buddy Guy), Shirley King (B.B. King), Big Bill Morganfield (Muddy Waters); Wayne Baker Brooks (Lonnie Brooks), Kenny Neal (Raful Neal), Freddie Dixon (Willie Dixon); Rose Reed (Jimmy Reed); and a backup band deeply rooted in the blues, including Kenny Kinsey (Big Daddy Kinsey), Mark Clay (Otis Clay), Eddie Taylor Jr. (Eddie Taylor Sr.), and more to be announced.
Buddy Guy, national spokesman for PCa Blue, is proud to join his daughter in a special guest appearance at the May 21st concert.
The net proceeds from all the Sons and Daughters events will go to the prostate cancer education and awareness organizations that are the primary beneficiaries of all PCa Blue’s activities – and to the HART Fund of the Blues Foundation, which provides for the healthcare needs of blues musicians. Ticket information and a full lineup to be announced.
