PCa Blue and the Atlanta Blues Society are working together to connect the dots between prostate cancer and blues music by hosting an educational concert event on Saturday, December 16 at the Vista Room. The show will feature legendary blues man, Grammy Award Winning Bobby Rush and Atlanta’s very own Big Bill Morganfield. The show, to be hosted by Tom Jones WSB-TV News Reporter and WRFG Radio UK Bob will include both a live and silent auction. The event is a fundraiser for PCa BLUE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to raising prostate cancer awareness.
The evening will be an amazing night of blues music where attendees learn about risk factors, screening, treatment and hope for a long life when diagnosed with prostate cancer. We will hear powerful messages from musicians, medical experts, survivors and advocates. We are excited that Viraj Master, MD, PhD a urologic oncologist from Emory University will be joining us for the evening.
We are offering a special VIP experience for a limited number of guests. This includes an exclusive meet and greet cocktail reception on Friday, December 15 at the world famous Pittypat’s Porch and VIP seating up close and personal with music magic the following night at the concert at the Vista Room.
Proceeds from both events support national prostate cancer education organizations, PHEN, Us Too and ZERO, and the Blues Foundation’s HART Fund (Handy Artists Relief Trust), which helps blues musicians and their families in financial need due to a broad range of health concerns. Prostate cancer survivors will share their stories and leaders from the urology and oncology communities will share their knowledge.
